Peak Study Skills Seminar has been structured for gifted students in their final two years of secondary education. This seminar is designed for students who need to identify strategies that will enable them to use the available study time effectively; to maximise academic results; to optimise choices for tertiary study and position themselves for opportunities in future careers.
Students with high abilities are often able to coast through the early years of school.
It is not until academic challenges increase at upper secondary level that students and/or their parents may realise the need to develop a different approach to completing assessments and studying for exams. If students are to realise their intellectual potential, achieve peak academic results, they must develop effective study skills, manage the complex demands associated with a crowded assessment schedule and a range of extracurricular activities.
Michele Juratowitch, author of Study: The Simple Facts, developed and delivers the Peak Study Skills Seminar for upper secondary students. Michele has experience providing study skills programs for high-ability students in seminars, schools, at university, through organisations and within her counselling practice.
